BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A man was sent to a local hospital Friday morning after a single-vehicle accident on Route 17 in Ho-Ho-Kus borough, according to Daily Voice.

The accident unfolded on a stretch of the southbound highway near Hollywood Avenue, just before 6:30 a.m. Multiple agencies, including Ho-Ho-Kus police, fire crews, members of the Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and a Valley EMS unit, all responded to the scene.

Preliminary details show the man was driving an SUV southbound when he narrowly missed colliding with a bus shelter before running over a street sign, and then a tree just past Hollywood Avenue.

No other occupants or vehicles appear to have been involved.

First responders had the male driver, who reported chest pains, transported to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

A Citywide Towing flatbed was seen removing the wreckage from the area.

At this time, the cause of the crash has not been disclosed, and no pending charges have been reported.
