Man found deceased in Hillside after likely pedestrian crash

UNION COUNTY, NJ — A 23-year-old man was discovered deceased Tuesday morning after an apparent hit-and-run collision in Hillside, according to local media.

The Hillside Police Department believes the young man was hit and killed by a vehicle in the roadway near 11 Vine Street.

Few details have been released at this time, but an early investigation indicates the striking vehicle was a truck. It remains unclear why the victim was in the street at the time of the fatal incident.

At this time, no other information on the victim or the driver has been shared.

The HPD’s Hillside Police Traffic Division continues to investigate.
