Man dies after wrong-way crash on NJ-18 near New Brunswick

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — A 21-year-old Old Bridge man died last Thursday, February 16, after a hit-and-run crash on Route 18 near New Brunswick, reports Daily Voice.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said the fatal incident occurred on the southbound highway near the border of Piscataway and New Brunswick.

An early investigation indicates a 42-year-old Iselin man was driving against traffic when his vehicle collided head-on with the victim’s vehicle.

The victim, a Rutgers University student and fraternity brother, died as a result of his injuries.

The wrong-way driver, who fled the scene, was later located and charged with “leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash.”

No other details have been disclosed at this time.
