OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — A 28-year-old Lakewood man died Sunday afternoon after a motorcycle accident in the Whiting area of Manchester Township, reports Daily Voice.
The wreck took place on Pasadena Road, near Mount Misery Road, at around 3:41 p.m.
Investigators with Manchester Township Police said the man was operating a 2012 Yamaha FZ8 motorcycle eastbound on Pasadena Road at high speeds. At one point, the male rider lost control of the bike, was ejected, and hit several trees.
Officers arrived to find the heavily-damaged motorcycle along the wood-line in a nearby grassy area.
First responders rushed the victim by ambulance to Community Medical Center. Officials said he was later pronounced deceased.
An investigation by the police department’s Traffic Safety Unit remains in progress. At this time, officials believe speed and operator error contributed to the fatal crash.
