ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A 56-year-old man was fatally injured early Friday when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene in East Orange, according to NJ.com.
The incident took place in the 100 block of South Munn Avenue at around 12:35 a.m.
At this time, local police have not released a sequence of events leading up to the event, but an unknown vehicle hit the male pedestrian and continued away from the area without stopping to render aid.
The victim, who was rushed to University Hospital in Newark, later succumbed to his injuries. His identity remains undisclosed as officials work to notify his family members.
