OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — A 24-year-old man from Brigantine died early Thursday after a single-vehicle accident on the Garden State Parkway in Stafford Township, according to local media.
The fatal crash happened on the northbound side of the parkway, at milepost 63.4, about a mile south of Route 72. New Jersey State Police were called to the scene at around 1:18 a.m.
An early investigation shows the man was driving a Kia passenger vehicle northbound when, for reasons still unclear, the car ran off the right side of the roadway and struck several trees.
The male driver died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed officials.
NJ State Police are working to determine the cause of the collision.
