MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – A man has been charged with reckless driving following the six-car, chain-reaction crash that injured four in Old Bridge on Monday.

According to Nj.com, a 50-year-old Freehold Township man rear-ended the car in front of him on Route 18 near Spring Valley Road at about 5:45 p.m. He had failed to brake in time and the initial impact sent the car in front into another vehicle. Soon, three more vehicles were involved in the crash.

Four people sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The Freehold Township man has been charged with reckless driving. Additionally, he has been charged with not having insurance. He also was taken for a blood alcohol test at a local hospital and the results could mean further charges.
