HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A 45-year-old man faces up to 19 charges after a pedestrian crash, alleged assault, and home invasion Sunday night in Guttenberg, reports NJ.com.

The events first unfolded at the corner of Bergenline Avenue and 70th Street, just before 9:00 p.m.

Armed with a knife, he entered a resident and allegedly assaulted one of the home’s occupants, all of whom were able to escape the home.

The suspect barricaded himself in the residence for hours as County Regional SWAT crews attempted negotiations. Following his surrender, Moore was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital to be evaluated. He now faces as many as 19 charges that include “aggravated assault, attempted aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery, endangering an injured victim,” as well as several weapons offenses, among others. He was also issued multiple traffic summonses, including “driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
