The fire was located at 321 E. Surf Road at approximately 5:11 p.m. The fire was contained to the second floor of the house and was under control by 5:49 p.m.
One of the home’s occupants and a firefighter were transported to a hospital for medical attention.
The home was reportedly built in 1927 and was the family’s summer home. The building suffered extensive damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
