RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ – An elderly pedestrian died after being struck by the driver of a van in Ridgefield Park on Friday morning, according to information from the Daily Voice.
The crash happened near the intersection of Mount Vernon Street and Main Street at around 9:30 a.m.
A 79-year-old Ridgefield Park resident was crossing the street in a crosswalk when she was struck by the 67-year-old driver of a Ford van who was making a left turn at the intersection.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver was released at the scene with traffic summonses pending, but no criminal charges.
The accident remains under investigation.
