E-motorcyclist dies after crash with police car in Fort Lee

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — One person died Monday morning after their electric motorcycle collided with a Port Authority police vehicle in Fort Lee, reports Daily Voice.

The fatal wreck occurred at the corner of Bruce Reynolds Boulevard and Lemoine Avenue, near the George Washington Bridge. It was first reported at around 5:45 a.m.

According to Port Authority Police, an officer was driving on Bruce Reynolds Boulevard during a green light when a male rider on an electric bike ran a red light and hit the police car in the intersection.

Officials confirmed the rider died from his injuries.

The officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The intersection was blocked off during the emergency response.

At this time, an investigation by the department’s Fatal Accident Investigations Unit and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation remains ongoing.
