MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — A 41-year-old Seaside Heights man has been charged after a Wall Township crash in March that hurt two people, including a 9-year-old boy, reports NJ.com.

The wreck occurred on the Route 18 southbound exit ramp to Route 138 eastbound on March 17, at around 8:00 p.m.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said the suspect, Kevin Christian, lost control of his van while on the ramp, causing it to slide across the grass median and hit an SUV.

The driver of the SUV, a 44-year-old Toms River woman, and her son, who suffered a major head injury, were transported to an area hospital.

Officials said Christian’s blood alcohol level at the time was found to be more than triple the legal limit of .08. He received summons for “driving with a suspended license, DWI, reckless driving, delaying traffic and failure to maintain a lane.”

On Wednesday, June 7, he was taken into custody and booked into Monmouth County Jail. He is expected to make his first appearance in court.

No updates on the conditions of the victims have been disclosed.
