MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A 49-year-old Pompton Plains man was hospitalized early Sunday, September 18, after a wreck near a residence in Pequannock Township, according to Daily Voice.
The collision occurred on the front yard of a home located at 396 Boulevard. It was first reported at about 2:25 a.m.
It was unclear what led up to the crash, but responding officers found the male driver trapped in his vehicle.
Pequannock Fire Company crews worked to extricate the man from the wreckage and then had him flown to an area hospital, where he has since been released.
Further investigation into the accident later led to the suspect’s arrest. He was formally charged with “driving while intoxicated, traffic on marked lanes, and reckless driving.” Officials said he is expected to make an appearance in Pequannock Township Municipal Court.
