BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A 75-year-old Totowa woman was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a falling tree struck her vehicle in Englewood, reports Daily Voice.

The Englewood Police Department said the incident occurred on Broad Avenue near Huguenot Avenue at around 1:00 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates the woman was driving a 2002 Lexus SUV southbound on Broad Avenue when a tree collapsed onto the road. The crash also knocked a utility pole and wires down across the vehicle.

A photo taken at the scene shows the fallen tree blocking the roadway in both directions.

The female driver, who reported pain in her neck and back following the crash, was transported to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.

No other injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.

A section of Broad Avenue was shut down as crews worked to clear the tree and tended to repairs.
