GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — A 52-year-old Marlton man died Wednesday evening after a collision on U.S. Highway 322 in Monroe Township, reports NJ Advance Media.
The fatal wreck occurred at around 5:40 p.m. on the westbound lanes (South Black Horse Pike) approaching Ocean Lane, in the township’s Williamstown area.
Monroe Township Police said the Marlton man was driving a Honda Accord when he tried to turn left into a parking lot. While the Accord was crossing the eastbound lanes, it was hit on the rear-passenger side by a Chevrolet Corvette.
Officials said the impact of the crash caused the driver of the Accord to eject from the vehicle. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died from his injuries at around 7:00 p.m.
The driver of the Corvette, a 22-year-old local man, sustained minor injuries. It was unclear whether he had to be taken to hospital.
Monroe Township Police continue to investigate. At this time, no pending charges have been reported.
