OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — A 58-year-old woman from Howell crashed her car into a 7-Eleven Monday morning in Brick Township, forcing the store to temporarily close, reports NJ.com.

The incident occurred at the store located at Burnt Tavern Road and Burrsville Road. Local police responded to the scene at around 10:24 a.m.

A preliminary investigation found that the woman had mistook her gas pedal for the brake while pulling into a parking space. A photo captured at the scene shows significant damage to the storefront.

No major injuries were reported, but responding officers issued the female driver a summons for careless driving.

Following the crash, the store will remain closed until city building and health department officials are able to inspect the structure and approve it for reopening.
