HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A 73-year-old man died following a pedestrian crash Monday morning involving a teenage driver in Union City, according to local media.
The fatal incident occurred in the area of Palisade Avenue and 36th Street. Union City Police officers were called to the scene at around 7:36 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the man was working as a Union City Department of Public Works employee at the time he was hit by a Dodge Durango driven by a 16-year-old boy.
The victim, who suffered life-threatening injuries, was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center. He was pronounced deceased at 5:15 p.m. later that day.
At this time, authorities have not reported any charges. No other information on the circumstances of the crash has been provided.
An investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Union City Police Department remains ongoing.
