Cyclist dies after being hit by vehicle in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — A 61-year-old man was fatally injured late Sunday morning when he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle in Atlantic City, reports Daily Voice.

The incident took place at the intersection of Montpelier and Arctic Avenues, near Sovereign Avenue School. Atlantic City Police were called to the scene at around 11:21 a.m.

No information on the circumstances of the collision have been shared, but officers arrived to find the male cyclist suffering from serious injuries.

The victim was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, where he later died, confirmed officials.

The driver, a 22-year-old Willingboro woman, stayed behind after the crash and cooperated with officers.

An investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
