Crash involving stolen vehicle kills 2 in Newark

NEWARK, NJ – WABC reports that a man and a woman were killed in a crash involving a stolen vehicle in Newark on Thursday morning.

The incident took place around 4:30 a.m., near the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue and Runyon Street.

Authorities say that a teenager driving a 2021 Dodge was speeding down Elizabeth Avenue when the Dodge collided with the other vehicle involved at the intersection.

A man and a woman inside the vehicle that was hit were killed in the impact, and the passengers in the stolen Dodge sustained injuries.

The driver of the stolen Dodge has yet to be identified, and no arrests have been made. Police continue to investigate the incident.
