Child critically hurt by driver while riding bike in Linden

UNION COUNTY, NJ — A 4-year-old boy was hospitalized Thursday morning after he and his father were struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in Linden, reports CBS New York.

The incident occurred in the area of East Saint Georges Avenue and Roselle Street at about 7:30 a.m.

According to investigators, a man was riding a bike with his young son when they were struck by a vehicle attempting a turn.

The boy suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Newark’s University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

His father sustained minor injuries, but it was unclear whether he was taken to a hospital.

No details on the driver have been shared, but they stayed at the scene after the crash.

At this time, no pending charges have been reported. An investigation was underway.
