BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — One person suffered a hand injury Tuesday afternoon after a fiery two-vehicle crash on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights, reports Daily Voice.

The collision occurred at the northbound jug handle, across from White Castle, just after 4:00 p.m.

Authorities did not say what led up to the wreck, but a Dodge Neon collided with a Toyota Camry, causing the first car to burst into flames.

One of the drivers sustained an injury to their hand, but declined medical treatment. No serious injuries were reported.

Borough firefighters worked to extinguish the fire as police conducted traffic control. Crews with the state’s Department of Transportation were also called to repair a malfunctioning traffic light, but it was unclear whether the issue was a factor in the crash.

An investigation remains ongoing.
