MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A box truck crashed into a guardrail early Sunday during a possible medical emergency on an Interstate 80 offramp in Parsippany-Troy Hills, reports WRNJ.
New Jersey State Police said the accident happened at Exit 47A onto the eastbound lanes of I-280 at around 6:04 a.m.
According to authorities, a Freightliner box truck was heading eastbound on the ramp when its driver appeared to suffer a medical episode, causing the truck to travel off the left side of the roadway. The truck went over the curbed median before crossing all eastbound lanes of I-280. It then ran into the center median, struck the guardrail and spun into a stop on the westbound side of I-280.
At this time, no details have been disclosed regarding the condition of the driver.
An investigation remains ongoing.
