WARREN COUNTY, NJ — A tractor-trailer was involved in a crash Thursday morning, causing long delays on Interstate 80 in Hardwick Township, according to NJ.com.

The accident happened on the eastbound lanes near mile marker 1 at the New Jersey-Pennsylvania border. It was first reported by the New Jersey Department of Transportation at about 8:00 a.m.

Officials did not say what led up to the collision, but a section of the eastbound interstate just east of Exit 2 to Worthington State Park were blocked during the response.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone was hurt.

By 8:38 a.m., more than 30 minutes later, a traffic backup had stretched over the border and near Exit 309 in Pennsylvania. At around 10:00 a.m., officials with the Delaware Water Gap Fire Department indicated the interstate would remained blocked for at least an additional four hours.

Delays from the big rig wreck were also complicated by the long-term closure of nearby Route 611, which was shut down in December due to a rockslide.
