ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — Three local teenagers were injured, one seriously, Tuesday morning after a crash off Mill Road in Egg Harbor Township, according to Daily Voice.

The accident happened near the Tremont Avenue intersection at around 7:15 a.m.

An early investigation shows a 17-year-old male student was driving a 2019 Audi A4 westbound on Mill Road with two other 17-year-old male passengers. As the Audi neared Tremont Avenue, another vehicle entered the intersection, prompting the teen driver to swerve and causing him to lose control of the Audi. The vehicle traveled off the left side of roadway, slid across a grassy area, and then collided with a tree near 6220 Mill Road.

Local police said the driver and his back-seat passenger were transported to area hospitals with undisclosed injuries.

The passenger in the front seat remained trapped in the wreckage for nearly 45 minutes before Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Department crews were able to extricate him. Authorities said the teen suffered several fractures to his legs and a number of internal injuries. He was rushed to Cooper Medical Center.

A section of Mill Road was blocked off for about two hours during the emergency response and investigation.
