3 pets killed, 3 people injured in 5-alarm house fire in Kearny

KEARNY, NJ – Three pets were killed and three people were injured in a five-alarm house fire in Kearny this morning, according to NJ.com.

The blaze happened at a two-story home at 350 Elm Street, near Quincy Avenue and Oakwood Avenue at about 9 a.m.

Three pets were killed in the fire.

Two firefighters and a resident were taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. At least one of the firefighters has since been released.

The fire was under control by about 12:15 p.m.

Authorities continue to investigate the blaze at this time.
