BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Three people were seriously injured early Friday, March 3, due to a single-vehicle wreck on Rock Road in southwest Ridgewood, reports Daily Voice.

Local police and first responders were called to the scene at the intersection with Lincoln Avenue, near the Glen Rock border, just before 1:30 a.m.

Officials did not say what caused the accident, but the vehicle struck multiple trees and several airbags were deployed.

A rear passenger suffered severe injuries from being thrown into the front seat. Crews used tools to tear open the rear door to extricate the victim, who was left unconscious but still breathing. The patient was then rushed to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson.

Two other occupants, the driver and front-seat passenger, also had to be removed from the wreckage and were transported to the same hospital with serious injuries.

No other details have been shared, but an investigation by Ridgewood Police was underway.
