3 dead after crash on Garden State Pkwy in Port Republic

ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — Three people in their 20s have died following a two-vehicle wreck Sunday night on the Garden State Parkway in Port Republic, reports NJ.com.

The fatal accident took place on the southbound lanes of the parkway near milepost 44.6, approaching Pomona Road. It was first reported at around 9:50 p.m.

According to New Jersey State Police, 24-year-old Sabrina Kontos, of Ocean Grove, was driving a Kia southbound when the car rear-ended a Toyota. The Kia then traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree.

Kontos and her two passengers all died from injuries sustained in the crash, confirmed officials. The passengers have since been identified as 27-year-old Dion Bullock, of Ashbury Park, and 28-year-old Omar Williams, of Eatontown.

NJSP said the driver of the Toyota was not reported seriously hurt.
