BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — Three children and a woman were left injured Saturday after a pair of crashes involving the same male driver in Mount Laurel Township, according to Daily Voice.
Mount Laurel Police said the first crash occurred on a stretch of Hainesport Road at around 1:00 p.m.
Preliminary details show 38-year-old Christopher Lentz, a Mount Laurel resident who was wanted out of Trenton, was driving when his vehicle hit a woman who was riding a bike. He drove away from the scene without stopping and just a short distance away, his vehicle slammed into a car carrying another woman and her three children.
Authorities said one of the child occupants suffered a brain bleed and was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, where the patient remains in the intensive care unit as of Tuesday, July 25.
The female cyclist, who suffered a broken rib, was transported to a local hospital.
The other two children sustained injuries considered non-life-threatening, but it was unclear whether they were taken to a hospital.
Mount Laurel Police said Lentz, who remained at the second crash scene, was taken into custody and is being held at the Mercer County Jail. Authorities learned of a warrant out for his arrest in connection to a “bank robbery and false public alarm charges.” Following the pair of crashes, he was issued a summons for “leaving the scene of an accident” and faces pending criminal charges. He was also taken to a hospital where a blood draw was conducted.
