26-year-old tow truck driver struck, killed while responding to crash

HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – A tow truck driver and one other person were killed at the scene of a crash in Hunterdon County Tuesday afternoon.

The 26-year-old man was a tow truck driver for Superior Towing & Transport, LLC. He responded to a crash on Route 22 westbound in Readington to assist with a disabled vehicle, according to the Daily Voice.

An 86-year-old man in a Cadillac Escalade struck both the disabled vehicle and the tow truck driver near the median.

The 26-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man who struck him was transported to RWJ University Hospital Somerset where he died of his injuries.
