BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A trailer became detached from a vehicle and struck a tree Sunday morning in Evesham, killing two horses, according to Daily Voice.
The accident occurred in the 100 block of Hopewell Road. Authorities responded to the scene at around 10:30 a.m.
Evesham Police said a vehicle was towing a trailer containing two horses when, for reasons still unclear, the trailer became detached, traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree.
Both animals died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash, confirmed officials. No one in the towing vehicle was reported hurt in the event.
A section of Hopewell Road was closed for some time during the response and initial investigation, which continues to be handled by the Evesham Police Traffic Bureau.
