11yr Old Boy Struck in Newark Hit/Run Accident

NEWARK, NJ – A child was taken to the hospital Friday night after having been hit by a car in Newark, according to RLS Media.

The crash occurred in the area of 20 University Avenue at about 9 p.m. when an 11-year-old boy was struck by a car, possibly a gray Hyundai sedan, in a hit-and-run collision.

An off-duty officer was at the scene when the crash occurred and was able to help the child after the possibly female suspect fled the scene.

The child was taken to the hospital in stable, non-life-threatening condition.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision at this time.
