BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — One person died last Thursday in a motorcycle collision in Pemberton that left another person seriously injured, reports Daily Voice.
The wreck took place on Route 687, near the intersection with Davis Street, just after 5:16 p.m.
According to Pemberton Township Police, officers had attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle but its operator failed to stop. Shortly after, the motorcycle collided with another civilian vehicle at the intersection.
Officials said the operator was pronounced deceased on the scene. A passenger on the bike suffered serious injuries.
As mandated by New Jersey state law with regard to incidents that occur during law enforcement encounters, an investigation into the fatal accident is being conducted by the Office of Pubic Integrity and Accountability (OPIA).
