CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ — A driver had to be extricated Tuesday morning following a serious rollover crash in Lower Township, according to Daily Voice.

The collision occurred at the corner of Breakwater Place and Bayshore Road, near Breakwater Plaza, in the city’s North Capy May area. It was first reported at about 11:35 a.m.

Lower Township Police said the driver was traveling northbound on Bayshore Road in a white 2016 Ford Focus Hatchback. For unclear reasons, the vehicle veered into the southbound lane, hit a tree, and overturned onto its passenger side in the front lawn of a nearby residence.

First responders took the driver and sole occupant to an area hospital for unspecified injuries after performing a rescue extrication for the trapped victim.

Multiple local agencies responded to the scene, as did Villas and Erma Fire Departments, Inspira Medical personnel, and Atlanticare Medical personnel.

An investigation remains ongoing.
