NEWARK, NJ – One person was injured when a parked car with multiple propane tanks inside exploded in Newark just after midnight on Monday.
According to Daily Voice, the vehicle was parked in the 200 block of Johnson Avenue. Police responded to a report of an explosion at about 12:05 a.m. Upon arrival, they found that the car that exploded had multiple propane tanks.
The explosion had injured one person, damaged nearby parked cars, and a church building.
The victim, the owner of the car, was taken to University Hospital. An update on his condition is not available.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
