Wires and pole downed by crash in Cherry Hill Township

CHERRY HILL TOWNSHIP, NJ – A car accident took down a utility pole and power lines on Route 79 in Cherry Hill Township on Tuesday morning.

According to 511 New Jersey, the accident took down a utility pole and downed power lines in the eastbound lanes of Route 70 near Penn Avenue at about 10:55 a.m.

The right two lanes and the shoulder were blocked in the area by the accident and debris. The closure continued into the afternoon, causing delays of up to ten minutes.

Authorities asked drivers to use caution in the area, especially as they worked to repair the utility pole and wires.

At this time, it is not clear if anyone was injured in the accident.
