Man charged for accident on shoulder of Garden State Parkway

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A Toms River man has been charged for the death of a New York man on the Garden State Parkway on Saturday.

According to Daily Voice, Daniel Citron of Ossining, had pulled his vehicle to the shoulder after a minor collision. As he and the other involved motorist inspected their vehicles, a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer struck them. The second victim sustained an injury to his arm, while Citron was thrown into the travel lanes and run over. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim, 21-year-old Frank Puglisi was treated for moderate injuries.

The suspect, 37-year-old Roberto Sandoval-Guerrero fled the scene but police later apprehended him in Toms River. He is facing charges for vehicle homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, causing death or injury while driving with a suspended license, and resisting arrest.
