ROCKLAND COUNTRY, NY – According to NJ.com, a man from New Jersey was charged with driving while under the influence of drugs after he struck and killed a pedestrian.
The 53-year-old Giovanni Bolano was mowing his grass on Lester Drive last Wednesday when the driver veered from the road into his yard, crashing into him. He died of injuries from the accident.
Englewood resident Jared S. DeVera, 29, was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter as well as driving under the influence, according to Orangetown Police.
The accident happened in a neighborhood two miles outside of New Jersey.
