FORT LEE, NJ – Police have charged a woman with driving away from the scene of an accident where a man was injured last month.
The hit-and-run happened on June 8 a few minutes before 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Hudson Terrace and Myrtle Avenue. The victim was a 23-year-old man who was treated for serious injuries at Hackensack University Medical Center following the accident.
Fatou Diaby, 25, a medical assistant from Harlem, struck the victim with her Honda Accord and initially stepped out of her vehicle after the accident. However, she fled the scene before officials were able to arrive.
She has been charged with hindering apprehension and leaving the scene of an accident involving serious injury.
She is scheduled to appear in court in August.
