MIDDLE TOWNSHIP, NJ – A man driving a truck was killed Tuesday when the vehicle slammed into a home in Cape May County, according to NJ.com.
Police in Middle Township responded to the crash shortly after 8:10 a.m. near the intersection of Route 147 and Massachusetts Avenue in the township’s Burleigh section.
Authorities say 64-year-old Jerry Jorgensen was heading west on Route 147 when the truck’s hydraulic lift struck a Garden State Parkway overpass. The vehicle then crashed into a home on Route 147 and came to a stop.
Jorgensen, of Cape May Courthouse, was pronounced dead at the scene. One person was in the home at the time of the accident but was not hurt, police said.
Law enforcement agencies are investigating the cause of the crash.
