NEWARK, NJ – Authorities say three people are dead after their car crashed in Newark while returning home from a party at the Jersey Shore, according to 94.3 The Point.
This is an update to a previous story.
The victims were ejected when the vehicle crashed and caught fire on Route 22 at about 11 p.m. Tuesday night. Two other people in the car were hospitalized.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said he had been told by Newark Mayor Ras Baraka that the people in the car were returning from a gathering in Point Pleasant Beach, about an hour away.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released. There is no word yet on what led to the crash.
