WESTAMPTON, NJ – An accident on New Jersey Turnpike involving a van and parked Freightliner tractor trailer kills driver, 6 ABC reports.
The victim driving the van has been identified by police as 57-year-old Vincenzo Catalano from Lanoka Harbor, Ocean County.
According to authorities, a Chevrolet van driven by Catalano was heading southbound when he struck the rear end of a Freightliner tractor trailer that was parked on the right shoulder near Interchange 5.
The accident occurred in Westampton Township, Burlington County at approximately 9:20 p.m. and forced lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike to be shut down for over 5 hours.
Catalano was pronounced dead at the scene.
