Woman fatally hit by vehicle at Bloomfield intersection

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A 60-year-old woman died last Friday, October 20, after a pedestrian crash on Bloomfield Avenue in south Bloomfield, according to Daily Voice.

The fatal incident occurred at the intersection with Grove Street and was first reported at about 7:25 p.m.

While the circumstances of the event remain undisclosed, authorities said the woman, identified as Nelly Fernandez, was rushed to University Hospital after being struck by a vehicle. Officials confirmed she died as a result of her injuries.

It was not immediately clear whether the driver, who remained at the crash site, is expected to be charged. Local authorities and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office continue to investigate.
