ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — A 32-year-old Mays Landing woman died early Tuesday after a pedestrian crash on Route 50 in the Township of Hamilton, reports Daily Voice.
Township of Hamilton Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene at the highway intersection with Spruce Street, at around 1:18 a.m.
An early investigation indicates that Egg Harbor City resident Michael Jackson, 65, was driving a 2013 Honda Pilot northbound on Route 50. At one point, the victim, Jessica Lavin, entered the travel lane on foot and was hit by the Honda.
First responders with Galloway EMS and AtlantiCare Paramedics rushed Lavin to Atlanticare City Division Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
No further information has been disclosed at this time, as an investigation remains open and ongoing.
