CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NJ — A 27-year-old man died Wednesday evening after a two-vehicle wreck on Route 55 in Vineland, reports Daily Voice.
New Jersey State Police said the collision took place on the southbound side of NJ-55 at around 5:22 p.m.
According to a preliminary investigation, the victim, a Bridgeton resident, was driving a Toyota passenger car northbound when, for reasons still unclear, he veered across the grassy center median. Moments after the Toyota entered the southbound lanes, it collided head-on with a Porsche Cayenne.
Buch suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced shortly after, confirmed NJSP.
Authorities said the driver of the Porsche sustained moderate injuries.
A section of the southbound highway was shut down for nearly four hours, creating heavy traffic delays in the area. The northbound lanes were blocked off for about an hour, causing light delays.
An investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing.
