Pedestrian hit, seriously hurt by car on US-22 in Pohatcong

WARREN COUNTY, NJ — One person was seriously injured late Monday night due to a pedestrian crash on U.S. Route 22 in Pohatcong Township, according to local media.

The incident was reported on the eastbound lanes of US-22 near St. James Avenue, at about 11:30 p.m.

While the circumstances behind the event are still under investigation, first responders arrived on the scene to find at least one victim lying on the ground and suffering from serious injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle.

All travel lanes in the area were shut down as during the emergency response and initial investigation.

Authorities did not immediately say whether the driver remained at the scene. No charges have been reported at this time.
