Man intentionally hit, injured by car in Lawrence Township

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A man was hospitalized with serious injuries Saturday, July 8, after being followed and struck by a vehicle in Lawrence Township, according to Daily Voice.

The violent incident occurred at Halo Farm, in the township’s Lawrenceville area, at around 5:08 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates the victim and his girlfriend were initially at a 7-Eleven store where they were involved in a dispute with the suspect, Peter Armbruster III, a 54-year-old man from Burlington.

Armbruster allegedly followed the couple to Halo Farm, where he parked his car in the parking lot and waiting for two to arrive. He then accelerated toward the couple, hitting the man and just missing the woman.

Lawrence Township EMS personnel rushed the victim to Capital Health System – Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition.

Armbruster, who fled the scene following the crash, was located and arrested in the city of Trenton on July 11 by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. He faces multiple charges, including attempted murder in the 1st degree, aggravated assault in the 2nd degree, attempted aggravated assault in the 2nd degree, “leaving the scene of motor vehicle crash with serious injuries (3rd degree), endangering injured victim (3rd degree) and assault by auto (4th degree).”

The suspect, who was booked into Mercer County Correction Center, is scheduled for a detention hearing.
