Driver dies after car rolls off I-295 in Hamilton Township

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — One person died late Sunday night after a single-vehicle rollover collision on Interstate 295 in Hamilton Township, reports Daily Voice.

The fatal accident took place on the northbound lanes of I-295 near milepost 63.1, at around 11:52 p.m.

New Jersey State Police officials said the victim was driving a Mercedes-Benz northbound when, for reasons still unclear, the vehicle veered off the right side of the highway. It then overturned and collided with the support of a road sign.

The driver, who sustained fatal injuries, was pronounced deceased shortly after, confirmed officials. No identifying information has been disclosed at this time as the victim’s family members are still being notified.

No other injuries were reported in the event.

The NJSP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
