Crash closes two lanes on NJT at NJ-440 in Edison Township

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — Authorities were called to a wreck late Sunday that blocked the right and center lanes on the New Jersey Township in Edison Township, according to 511NJ TPK.

The accident occurred on the northbound inner lanes of the turnpike, south of Interchange 10 to Route 440 and Interstate 287. It was first recorded by 511NJ at 11:32 p.m.

The circumstances of the collision were not immediately clear, but the two lanes remained closed for over 50 minutes. By 12:23 p.m., only the right lane was reported blocked.


At 12:55 p.m., more than 30 minutes later, crews had cleared out of the roadway and all lanes were reported reopened.


Local agencies have not disclosed any information regarding potential injuries at this time.
