1 left seriously hurt after rollover crash on US-1 in Linden

UNION COUNTY, NJ — One person had to be extricated following a rollover wreck Sunday evening on U.S. Route 1 in Linden, according to local media.

First responders were dispatched to the scene at the intersection with South Stiles Street at about 7:24 p.m.

The circumstances behind the accident remain unclear, but rescue crews arrived to find the driver trapped inside an overturned vehicle.

After their safe removal from the wreckage, the patient was administered CPR and then transported to an area hospital. No updates on their condition has been released, and no other injuries have been reported.

The Department of Transportation Division Team and The Office of Emergency Management were on the scene conducting traffic control on the busy roadway.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
