Scooter driver dies after crash with truck in Montclair

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A 41-year-old Verona resident died Monday afternoon after their scooter collided with a truck in Montclair, according to local media.

Local police were dispatched to the scene on the 300 block of Bloomfield Avenue at 1:44 p.m.

The circumstances of the accident remain unclear, but officials pronounced the victim deceased at 2:00 p.m.

At this time, no charges against the truck driver have been reported, but the Essex County Prosecutor’s Crime Scene Investigations Bureau continues to investigate.
